Its experiences, lessons, intellectual capital and selected properties helped inform what followed. But Unmutedco is a distinct institution—with its own identity, purpose and future.
Years of technology services, live broadcasting, digital media, newsroom operations, internships, creator development and community programs built hard-earned experience. Catalyst Next and related ventures belong to this earlier chapter: important groundwork, but not Unmutedco itself.
Unmutedco was founded as a distinct institution with a wider mandate: bring business, technology, media and education together to build durable infrastructure for communities too often left outside existing systems.
As the pandemic disrupted planned launch events, Unmutedco’s news and media work adapted. BLKALERTS emerged from the newsroom ecosystem to deliver timely, essential information to Black communities when clarity and speed mattered.
The portfolio expanded across television, creator platforms, business tools, learning and custom technology. NoirPlus, NoirTube, Noirworx, Unmuted EDU and Labs made the institutional model visible: separate expressions, one connected purpose.
With operations across Atlanta, New York and Toronto, Unmutedco entered its next chapter as an international Black-centered institution—aligning its practices, strengthening its portfolio and building for the decades ahead.
